Montreal 2024: One Young World Summit to Inspire Global Youth Leadership

Montreal is set to host the One Young World Summit from September 18-21, 2024, an event that
promises to galvanize the next generation of leaders. Founded with the mission
to empower young professionals, the summit has grown into a global phenomenon,
drawing delegates from over 190 countries.

One Young World co-founder, Kate Robertson, has long been a driving force behind this influential gathering.
“Seeing such a solid turnout and what it means to young leaders is
everything to me,” said Robertson, underscoring the event’s significance.
Her commitment to fostering global youth leadership has attracted world-renowned
speakers, including Meghan Markle, Bill Clinton, and Kofi Annan, thereby
elevating the summit’s profile and impact.

The summit will kick off with an elaborate Opening Ceremony at the Bell Centre, home to the
Montreal Canadiens. It will then proceed to the carbon-neutral Montreal
Convention Centre, where various sessions will unfold.

The One Young World Summit has a rich history of featuring prominent figures from diverse
fields. Past speakers have included Nobel laureates, political leaders, and
cultural icons, making it a unique platform for dialogue and collaboration.
This year’s lineup promises to be equally impressive, with guests like activist
Kerry Kennedy, business leader Paul Polman, and Olympian Mark Tewksbury
scheduled to speak.

Kate Robertson has also been instrumental in expanding the summit’s
reach through a range of scholarships. “At the moment, about a third of
our attendees attend on fully funded scholarships. We aim to increase this to
50% by 2030,” Robertson noted. This initiative ensures the event’s
unparalleled diversity, enabling young leaders from various socioeconomic
backgrounds to participate.

As the One Young World Summit approaches, anticipation is building. The event is not just four
days but part of a year-long commitment to nurturing young talent, as
emphasized by Ella Robertson McKay, the managing director. The summit continues
to be a beacon of inspiration for youth worldwide, thanks to the unwavering
dedication of leaders like Kate Robertson.
